Support WCU Nurse Anesthesia Students Post-Hurricane

We are starting a GoFundMe on behalf of the students in the nurse anesthesia program at Western Carolina University in Asheville, NC.

We are a group of first-year students in the program and want to support our fellow students in any way we can.

Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina in unimaginable ways, destroying the infrastructure that kept our region together. Many people have lost their homes and even lives in the worst destruction ever seen. In this once-in-a-millennium event, some of the students in the nurse anesthesia program at Western Carolina have lost their homes and/or are dealing with overwhelming loss, and we hope to support them with these funds.

As some of you may know, nurse anesthesia students are not able to work due to the rigor of the program. With the lack of income, it is already difficult to handle sudden emergency expenses, and to lose a stable environment and home during this time is unfathomable.

With these funds, we will have a supply pantry that will allow us to make sure many of us have food, water, hygiene products, pet food, and other basic necessities available while we continue to rebuild this community. With water and road restoration projected to take weeks, any little bit truly helps!
