Update: June 2025 — Wayne Is Now Home
Dear friends, family, and generous supporters,
We want to thank you again for the outpouring of love and support over the past several months. Your donations, prayers, and kind words have made an incredible difference in helping Wayne, Cindy, Nick and Zack to navigate this challenging journey of recovery.

We’re writing today to share an important update. As of this past week, Wayne has been transitioned home after his insurance stopped approving coverage for his stay in the rehabilitation facility. While we are grateful to have him back home, this change has come with significant challenges.

Wayne now requires a high level of care every day, and Cindy is managing his physical and medical needs at home which are often impossible for her to manage independently. The burden is heavy—emotionally, physically, and financially. Home renovations to make their home safe and accessible for Wayne are still in progress and costly. The cost of necessary medical supplies and equipment continues to grow as well.

This new phase of Wayne’s recovery is filled with both hope and challenges. If you are able, please consider sharing this page or making a contribution. Every single donation goes directly to Wayne’s care and to the essential changes needed to support his healing at home.

Thank you for continuing to walk alongside them in this journey.

Help Support Wayne's Recovery Journey

On January 1st, our dear friend Wayne suffered a massive stroke that required an emergency transport to Albany Medical Center and, within hours of arriving in Albany, an emergency brain surgery. This has been a traumatic and life-altering event that has deeply impacted him, his beloved wife, Cindy, and their family.

Wayne is a vibrant member of our community, always lending his time and energy to local sports. Since retirement, Wayne and Cindy have loved spending part of the winter in Florida, enjoying the sunshine and time together exploring, attending baseball games, and traveling. But now, everything has changed.

As Wayne continues his recovery, their home—which once offered comfort and familiarity—is no longer suited to meet his current medical and physical needs. A contractor is currently working on necessary renovations to make the home accessible and safe for Wayne’s eventual return. However, these modifications come with a significant financial burden.

In addition to the renovations, there will be an ongoing need for medical supplies and equipment to support Wayne’s daily care. This journey is far from over, and Cindy, Wayne, and their family face many challenges ahead—physically, emotionally, and financially.

We are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for support. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and help ease the strain during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you for keeping Wayne and Cindy in your prayers and thoughts, and for any help you are able to provide. It truly means the world to them.
