2/19 update

my father has been in an induced coma now for 2 weeks at Penn Medicine in philly. they bring him out of sedation for a couple hours a day. yesterday he was able to wiggle his toes for the first time and it was on command. he's been opening his eyes especially when you yell his name and they get bigger. he can move his head slowly back and forth. he can also move his mouth back and forth. his ECMO machine is at 30 currently. he will have a long road of recovery ahead of him. please pray for him❤️

Wayne is a very hard worker who dedicated his life to serving others. He worked for the state of New Jersey until he retired as an Assistant Forman, and for the past five years, he also held a job working at Doggett Corporation. After finally retiring on January 30, Wayne was looking forward to enjoying his well-earned rest. But the very next day, he began feeling unwell, and by Wednesday evening, he was admitted to the ICU in critical condition. On February 9, Wayne was medevaced to UPENN, where doctors discovered that three of his organs are failing. He is currently on dialysis and has an ECMO to help his lungs. Without these interventions, he would not be with us today.

The funds raised will help cover any medical bills that come from Wayne's hospitalization and ongoing care. We do not know what the outcome will be, and the recovery process will take weeks or even months. It is a very long and uncertain road ahead for Wayne and our family.
