We’re raising funds to buy a scientific multiparameter meter to regularly test Balingup Brook, local dams, and rainwater tanks. This will support community science, protect local ecosystems, and improve water safety education for residents and visitors.
Campaign story (brief version)
Balingup’s creeks, dams, and rainwater tanks are vital for our community, local wildlife, and visitors. Yet we currently have limited capacity to monitor key water quality indicators such as pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, and temperature. A handheld scientific multiparameter meter will allow local volunteers to collect reliable data, identify emerging issues early, and share easy‑to‑understand results with landholders, schools, and community groups.
Your donation will go directly towards purchasing:
One field‑grade multiparameter water quality meter
Calibration solutions and basic accessories
Simple educational materials to help interpret and share the results
By supporting this campaign, you’ll help us:
Detect changes in water quality in Balingup Brook and farm dams
Check the safety of rainwater tanks used for everyday activities
Run hands‑on education sessions with local schools and community members
Even small contributions bring us closer to better understanding and caring for our local waterways. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with others who care about Balingup and healthy waterways is a huge help.
Thank you for helping us test and protect our water.
