This fundraiser is being held by neighbors who share the building with those who have been impacted by the fire. The funds will be either directly transferred from Marianne's bank account to our neighbors via Zelle, CashApp, Venmo, or direct cash, or will be used to purchase whatever is needed before being distributed to recipients.

On November 8th our Washington Heights 6 floor building experienced a 5-alarm fire, leading to 9 people being injured, 3 of which were firefighters.

At least 6 families who were on floors 4-6 have been displaced and have lost everything, and now 21 units from every floor have received a vacate order due to flooding, fire damage, and ceilings caving in.

Many of these community members have a long history of living in this building, some having a lineage here going back generations. This fire has devastated so many, and we want to support our neighbors in providing them with whatever they may need to get through this devastating time.

El 8 de noviembre, en Washington Heights, nuestro edificio de 6 pisos sufrió un incendio de gran magnitud, dejando 9 personas heridas, 3 de ellas bomberos. Al menos 6 familias que vivían en los pisos 4 al 6 han perdido sus hogares y todas sus pertenencias. Actualmente, la mayoría de los apartamentos en cada piso han recibido una orden de desalojo debido a inundaciones, daños por incendios y techos que se derrumban.

Muchos de los miembros de esta comunidad llevan viviendo en este edificio desde hace mucho tiempo, algunos incluso tienen un linaje que se remonta a generaciones.
