Support Wanda Valentin's Road to Recovery

Hi, I’m Gretchen Rivera. On May 4th, 2024, my mom, Wanda Valentin, had a hemorrhagic basal ganglia stroke (with a survival rate of 26%). She was in a coma for 3 days and spent 10 days in intensive care. After 48 days hospitalized, mom is home recovering slowly, unsure of how long it will take for her to regain her strength and independence. Mom needs resources, supports, durable medical equipment, medicine, and home renovations to recover safely at home. Needless to say, she is unable to work, does not have medical insurance, and the loss of income has significantly impacted the family household. My siblings and I are reaching out to family and friends who can assist contributing financially to help our mom in her journey. Hola, soy Gretchen Rivera. El 4 de mayo de 2024, mi mamá, Wanda Valentin, sufrió un derrame cerebral hemorrágico de gangolia basal (con una tasa de supervivencia del 26%). Estuvo en coma durante 3 días y 10 días en cuidados intensivos. Después de 48 días hospitalizada, mami está en casa recuperándose lentamente sin saber cuánto tiempo le tomará recuperar su fuerza e independencia. Mami necesita recursos, apoyo, equipo médico duradero, medicamentos y renovaciones en el hogar para recuperarse de manera segura en casa. No hace falta decir que no puede trabajar, no tiene seguro médico y la pérdida de ingresos ha afectado significativamente al hogar familiar. Mis hermanos y yo nos acercamos a familiares y amigos que pueden contribuir financieramente para ayudar a mami en su recuperación.
