Support Walter's Recovery After Accident
Donation protected
Last Wednesday, after our evening weaving studio hours, Walter was in an accident. He was only three minutes from home when a car turned left right into him. His left leg was severely damaged and his motorcycle was destroyed. He is currently in the hospital while the doctors work to repair his leg.
I don't even know where to start with how important Walter is to our Fiber Arts community! He is an amazing artist, curious and kind. He is the first to help new folks at the studio and is our go to person for studio tours when we have an open house. He always has a smile on his face and is eager to learn new techniques. He taught himself how to spin yarn from wool so we could collaborate on a project with the Norfolk Zoo and he was recently awarded a scholarship from the MidAtlantic Fiber Association so that he can attend their conference in June. But first, he needs to heal.
He has had two surgeries so far and there will be more. The expenses associated with this accident are life changing and his job as a Community Outreach Coordinator for the Food Bank is not one that can be done from home. He will need funds to cover medical costs, housing and eventually a vehicle. All funds raised through this effort will go directly to Walter to help alleviate the financial worries as he heals.
