Walter, my husband, is 71 years young and has always been healthy. Before he got sick, he had never been to the doctor or had any major health issues. But at the beginning of November, things changed. He started feeling tired all the time and complained about constant hip pain. One day, while trying to get back into bed, he fell and hit the floor. I immediately called 911, and the paramedics rushed him to the hospital. At first, the doctors thought he was having a heart attack and prepared for emergency surgery. But after running labs, they discovered he had diabetes, anemia, and needed a blood transfusion. Four days later, a nurse came in with news that changed our lives: Walter had stage 4 leukemia. We were told he needed to be transferred to another hospital for urgent treatment, or he could go home and let the disease take its course. Since then, our world has been turned upside down. Walter has started treatments, and we are doing everything we can to fight this together. The medical bills, treatments, transportation, medications, and even basic needs like food have become overwhelming. We are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for help during this incredibly difficult time. Your support will help us cover these expenses and give Walter the best chance possible. We thank each and every one of you for your generosity, love, and support. Your kindness means more to us than words can say.
