Support volunteer firefighter Trever Rentzel
Donation protected
For those of you who do not personally know Trever Rentzel, he and his wife Jodi (Naylor) Rentzel, are 1984 graduates of Northeastern High School whose roots run deep in the community of Manchester and Mount Wolf. Trever has been a volunteer firefighter from the age of 14. He served in multiple capacities at both Station 22 and 23, starting as a a junior firefighter, getting EMT and water rescue certified, and serving as chief. Being such a big part of their life, Jodi also got her EMT certification. Trever has worked at Motorolla equipping organizations with emergency communication systems but his favorite job now is being a Poppy to his 4 grandchildren.
On the evening of March 5th, Trever was admitted to the hospital and was found to be in toxic shock. After significant testing, it was determined that he had necrotizing fasciitis which is a very rare and highly aggressive skin and soft tissue infection. Up until this point, he has had 3 surgeries which have removed a significant portion of his skin, fascia and muscle. He is currently in the surgical ICU, sedated and on a ventilator to allow his heart to rest, and on dialysis to lower the toxicity of his blood. He is in stable, but critical condition.
At this stage, it is likely that Jodi and Trever will need to be off work for an extended period of time. There is a long road ahead of recovery, reconstructive surgery, and rehabilitation. Donations will be used to help cover medical expenses that are beyond insurance and personal bills such as the mortgage and utilities.
We ask, if you are able, to donate to help alleviate some of the financial stress this will bring, so our family can focus on being there to support Trever.
Please respect Jodi's privacy. We invite you to share well wishes on this page and check back for updates on Trever's status. You can reach Ashli or Cortni through Facebook messenger.
