Support Vlorë's Stray Animals: Sterilization & Care
Donation protected
This initiative aims to provide support for the stray dog and cat population of Vlorë, Albania.
As many visitors to Vlorë have observed, these animals are a prevalent sight, particularly during the off-season when tourist crowds subside. Regularly, people find puppies and kittens tied in bags and thrown in garbage bins. While local authorities have not undertaken significant initiatives to address this issue, a small number of dedicated individuals have stepped forward to assist. However, the primary responsibility for their well-being falls upon foreign visitors, who often lack the necessary financial resources to make a substantial impact.
To address this pressing need, this campaign seeks to raise funds that will be exclusively allocated to the welfare of the animals. The funds will be utilized for the following purposes:
Sterilization: This crucial step will help control the stray population and prevent further suffering.
Vaccinations: Essential vaccines will be administered to ensure the health and well-being of the animals.
Food Support: Both fostered animals and those remaining on the streets will receive food provisions when possible.
Adoption Assistance: Financial support will be provided to facilitate the transport of adopted strays to their new homes.
It is strongly encouraged that individuals who encounter strays in Vlorë capture their likeness and share it on social media platforms, tagging the Mayor of Vlorë in their posts to raise awareness of this pressing issue.
The Animal Veterinary Hospital of Fier is giving us a 50% discount for sterilizing and vaccinating the strays! Please consider sponsoring a street animal.
**100% transparency with the use of funds**
****If you'd like to sponsor a specific stray, please include that in the donation****
