Vixen’s One-Eyed Journey
Donation protected
Tuesday, March 18th: Vixen was hit by a truck yesterday, we saw the whole thing. We don't know if she is going to pull through. She sustained substantial head trauma resulting in increased intracranial pressure (ICP). Her vitals are reflecting ICP which gets worse before it gets better. An MRI this morning will determine the severity of the injuries.
I am not a holy woman, but I hit my knees for the first time in my life last night and prayed for God to help all who were involved endure this pain only to come out stronger on the other side.
March 26th: Yesterday, Vixen’s eye showed some significant changes prompting a call to the doctor… after he reviewed photos I sent this morning, he asked for an immediate evaluation today.
“The eye’s got to go”.
Vixen will be dropped off for enucleation surgery (removal of the eye) tomorrow at 7am and will likely stay overnight. The estimated cost is $3,434 which puts the total cost at approximately $10,000.
My once $5,000 goal was surpassed within the first 3 DAYS of Vixen’s accident.. the amount of support and outreach has been incredibly humbling. Cameron and I cannot thank you all enough.
Expenses thus far are as follows:
MRI: $5,000
Enucleation: $3,424
Vet miscellaneous: $2,000
