I am humbly asking for your help.

When you hear the words, "You have cancer," your life changes forever. Eleven years ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 tongue cancer. I was told I had less than 20% chance to live, and if I did I would never talk again. After radical surgeries to remove and rebuild my tongue and radiation I am happy to be alive and talking and cancer free. But it came at great cost to the rest of my health. The effects of radiation have caused many many many problems. I cannot open my mouth wide, I have difficulty swallowing and eating and my speech is greatly effected. Osteoradionecrosis destroyed my jaw. I was literally pulling bone from my jaw out of my mouth. I have had to have my jaw replaced twice. I am blessed that my surgeon and team were on top of innovative procedures that have helped. Part of the process includes much needed prosthetics to rebuild areas of my mouth to greatly help my chewing and swallowing as well as my speech. Essentially giving me back my quality of life.

The doctors and prosthodontists came up with an amazing plan that would help and solve many of the problems. My health insurance even approved the prosthetics and procedures needed, which is a miracle in itself. Unfortunately the prosthodontists will not bill insurance and I have to pay up front privately. $20,000 is the cost of everything, and this is just not possible for my family and I. This has not been an easy journey, but I am blessed. It has taken me a very long time to create this page for my self. I hate asking anyone for help. But, I am humbly asking for any support you find it in your heart to share with me. No matter the amount, the gesture, or even the words of encouragement you may be able to share I want each and every one of you to know how deeply grateful I am for what I do have, for my family and friends and for those I have been able to help because of my experiences along the way.

Update,: As of Feb 1st I started the process for the first prostheis .
