Hello, I'm Visar, an Albanian queer refugee from North Macedonia now in Berlin, seeking safety and freedom. My journey to Berlin was driven by the hope of finding a safe haven and the freedom to live my life authentically. However, I am facing a critical challenge that threatens my dreams and safety.
The Challenge:
The German immigration authorities have decided to deport me back to N. Macedonia, a decision that puts my life at risk due to my sexual orientation and gender expression.
In North Macedonia, there exists an anti-discrimination law aimed at safeguarding marginalized individuals. However, in reality, pervasive corruption within governmental institutions has created distinct, challenging circumstances for queer individuals.
Living openly as a queer individual in Skopje, North Macedonia, subjected me to numerous verbal and physical attacks. Unfortunately, one of these incidents led to a court case that ended in my defeat, adding to my disappointment and lack of safety. Consequently, living in Skopje has become a constant source of anxiety for me, taking a toll on both my physical and mental well-being as I try to cope with these difficult circumstances.
I firmly believe that everyone should have the right to live authentically and without fear of persecution. This is why I applied for asylum in Germany. Unfortunately, my asylum decision is in jeopardy, and I need your help to navigate this challenging situation.

- Legal Expenses: To secure my safety and asylum in Germany, I urgently need legal representation. The asylum process is incredibly complex, and having a skilled attorney by my side is essential. Your contributions will directly assist in covering the legal fees necessary to contest this deportation order.
- Cost of Living: As a queer refugee in Berlin, I face additional challenges. I am not permitted to work legally, but I am doing my best to work remotely to cover my basic living expenses. However, the high cost of living in Berlin makes it exceedingly difficult to make ends meet, let alone save for legal fees. Your donations will help alleviate this financial burden by covering essential living expenses
Life in Berlin as a refugee without the legal right to work has been an immense challenge. Nevertheless, I remain resolute in my determination to make a living remotely. Your support will provide much-needed stability and enable me to focus on my legal case without the constant stress of financial hardship.

First attorney consultation 350€ + monthly 50€ consultation
two-month rent cover 800€
Additional funds to cover unexpected expenses
During this period, I am actively seeking employment opportunities to assist me in covering these expenses. However, my asylum status is constraining my options.
