Support Virtual Tutoring SF

Hi, my name is Hayden and I am raising money on behalf of Virtual Tutoring SF (VTSF). VTSF is a program that offers free online tutoring to students between the 3rd and 8th grades to help them catch up and advance themselves during this unprecedented time. With the efforts of high school volunteer tutors from all across the Bay Area, we've been able to help hundreds of students, through 1 on 1 or small class sessions get back on track with their education as everyone navigates through this challenging time. To date, the program has taught more than 7000 classes to over 700 students, of which 60%+ are low-income while maintaining a parent satisfaction rate of >99%!

Virtual Tutoring SF was founded by myself along with 2 of my cousins. Back in the spring of 2020, as schools first went online due to the outbreak, we saw that students weren't getting as much individualized attention in an online setting as they normally would in an in-person class. This inspired us to create a program to help students catch up for the upcoming school year. Originally, in the summer of 2020, we had planned to run the program just for that summer to assist students in regaining some of the education time lost. However, after the summer, with lots of great feedback from both parents and tutors, we decided to continue and have been offering tutoring until today! Now, we offer free online tutoring programs all year round. This consists of a fall and spring semester that follow the public school schedule and focuses on making sure students stay on pace with their classes in school, as well as a summer semester that works more towards helping students advance for the upcoming school year.

Donations to Virtual Tutoring SF will go to keeping the program up and running. These include general program expenses, small appreciation gifts to tutors at the end of semesters to thank them for their hard work, and being able to provide participants in our program supplies to help them with normal school or our online classes. With the help of an incredible admin team, we've been able to keep the program going and hope to continue making a difference in the community!
