Support Viridescent Kitchen

It has never been in my nature to ask for help from the greater community, but I know that I am sitting here in an unprecedented event that has left Brooke and I in awe of the fragility of our restaurant, Viridescent Kitchen.

It is with a humble heart that Brooke and I call upon the community to assist us in continuing to serve.

We need your help to cover our operating expenses such as rent, supplies and payroll! To say the least, this is a challenging time for everyone.  I know that all restaurants are impacted by the necessary actions being implemented to combat COVID-19.

At Viridescent Kitchen we have suffered a great loss in particularly because we are a small business in a growing but still very small vegan market where we are located.

Plano has restricted restaurant service through at least April 27, and over the last 2 weeks, our sales have plummeted, and we expect with the rising number of confirmed cases they will continue to fall without your help.

When we started Viridescent Kitchen in Zoe’s Kitchen’s former headquarters’ test kitchen our plan was to spread the word regarding the many benefits to following a vegan diet, and to make a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of the community, the animals and the climate.  We are literally on a mission and a hope to create an exciting new concept that will ultimately be successful.

We had never owned a restaurant, and we quickly learned how to be leaders among our staff and our community. It has been a very humbling, scary, and eye-opening experience for both of us.

We have been slowly improving each month and hoped to cover all of our monthly expenses for the first time in March (after narrowly missing in February). Brooke and I have not taken salary or any compensation since starting the company, have put in long hours away from our families, and have literally poured our personal funds, blood, sweat, and tears to get this company off the ground. We have been able to employ the most amazing team that we love so much. With the reduction in hours and sales we have had to temporarily cut hours for our team.

We are really struggling. We are not alone in this fight but we are afraid for the future of Viridescent Kitchen.

We will do everything we can to make this work, and we will be happy to express our sincere gratitude and thanks to our loyal followers on our social media sites for giving us this lifeline.
