A little over two months ago, Virginia received the heartbreaking diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer (Stage 4). She will begin treatment as soon as possible with endocrine therapy, and depending on her body’s response, she may also require surgery and radiotherapy to help slow the progression of this incurable disease.

This diagnosis has been devastating for Virginia and her loved ones, but despite these challenges, her strength, determination, and dedication remain truly inspiring.

Who is Virginia?

Virginia is a remarkable 41-year-old woman with a young family. She is the beloved daughter of Jun and Lualhati, a devoted wife to Jose, and a loving mother to their four wonderful children—Jacob (14), Joaquin (11), Jaxon Von (7), and baby Skye (18 months).

Her journey has been one of resilience and sacrifice. After moving from the Philippines to Australia to build a better future, Virginia worked tirelessly to complete her nursing degree, studying part-time for six years while she and her husband, Jose, worked multiple jobs to support their young family.

Beyond her role in her family, Virginia has spent years caring for others as a compassionate patient care assistant at Royal Darwin Hospital and a Receptionist at Parap Apartments. She has always put others before herself—now, it’s our turn to support her.

Why We Need Your Help

Cancer treatment is not only physically and emotionally draining—it also comes with a significant financial burden. As Virginia undergoes treatment, she may need to reduce or stop working entirely, making it difficult for her family to keep up with their living expenses, mortgage, medical costs, and childcare.

To help ease this financial strain, Grace, Mylene, and I have set up this fundraiser so Virginia and her family can focus on what truly matters—her health, her healing, and their time together.
