The life of a parent presents its own set of challenges. Bad things happen to good people. Few experiences are more challenging than having to bury a child before their time. On Friday, August 8th, my best friend, Virginia, 32-year-old daughter was murdered in front of her home in Portsmouth, VA. Virginia and her family are dealing with the emotional aftermath of these events. Unfortunately, Virginia's employer doesn't provide paid leave for circumstances like this.
