Help Violet Fight Leukemia: Support the Kao Family

Today, everything changed for the Kao family.

What began as what seemed like a minor cold quickly became every parent’s worst nightmare. Hannah’s motherly instinct told her that something wasn’t right with her two-year-old daughter, Violet. She trusted her instinct and after various tests and days of waiting, our sweet girl was diagnosed with leukemia.

Violet is currently hospitalized and has already undergone a bone marrow biopsy and several rounds of blood/ platelet transfusions. In the days ahead, she will undergo surgery to have a port placed and will begin chemotherapy shortly thereafter.

At just two years old, Violet is beginning a fight no child should ever have to face.

But if you know Violet, you know exactly who leukemia picked a fight with.

She is silly. She is stubborn. She is full of life.

Violet is loved more deeply than words could ever express.

And now, our little light needs all of us.

Hannah and Kory are incredible parents, there is absolutely nothing they will not do to get their daughter through this. Hannah is a freelance hairstylist, which means when she isn’t behind the chair working, there is no income coming in. She will now need to step away from work to be where she belongs: beside Violet through hospital stays, chemotherapy treatments, procedures, appointments, recovery, and every difficult day that comes with this diagnosis—while still being there as much as possible for their older daughter.

Kory will continue working and supporting his family, but overnight they are facing the reality of becoming a one-income household at the exact moment their expenses are about to become greater than ever.

Medical bills. Hospital expenses. Treatments. Medications. Travel. Food. Gas. Household bills. Everyday necessities.

Hannah and Kory are facing the financial weight of getting their little girl healthy again.

That is why we are asking for help.

Our goal is to raise money give this family some breathing room during the hardest season of their lives. These donations will help cover everyday financial obligations while Hannah is unable to work, as well as the medical expenses that will continue adding up throughout Violet’s treatment.
