Support Violet's Fight Against Leukemia

Donation protected

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share the news of my sweet daughter, Violet Rosemary Hoehner's recent diagnosis of leukemia. Since the end of 2023, Violet has been battling repeated health issues, including strep infections that have proven resistant to treatment. Her journey has now taken a devastating turn with the diagnosis of type B leukemia, along with additional complications requiring intensive medical care.

Violet is such a sweet little Christian girl who loves all and truly wants to make others happy. She attends Central Virginia Christian School in Dillwyn, Va. She is supposed to start third grade in August. Violet loves God and loves her school very much and is very saddened to be told she can't return due to her illness. Violet was born in March of 2016 and is the oldest of her three younger brothers - Grant (5), Mason (3), and Colt (1).

Violet had repeatedly caught strep and even with an antibiotic, it never fully went away. She is now a carrier for it and amoxicillin won't help her fight strep. In addition to her being diagnosed with strep again and leukemia, she has a mass infection in her throat where she had to have a breathing tube put in for help and has been heavily sedated and put into an induced paralysis. She is currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with a breathing tube due to an infection in her throat causing critical airway complications. She is fighting bravely against these challenges, and your support is crucial in helping her receive the necessary medical care and treatments.

Violet's parents, Steven and Jordan Hoehner, are devoted to their children's well-being. Steven Hoehner is a first-generation student who graduated shortly after Violet's birth from Case Western Reserve University and is now a math professor at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. Jordan Hoehner is a loving stay-at-home mom to Violet and her three younger brothers. The financial strain of Violet's diagnosis has been significant, and the family humbly asks for your support during this challenging time.

Violet is a talented young girl with a love for art, sea turtles, music, and playing with her brothers and friends. Her positive spirit and love for life continue to inspire us all during this difficult time.

Your generosity will help us cover medical expenses, ongoing treatments, and other unforeseen costs as we navigate this difficult journey with Violet. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in our lives. We are also actively seeking assistance from foundations to help cover these medical expenses, including unforeseen costs and everyday expenses, with the hope that this will allow us to allocate the funds raised here to support her schooling and secure her future. While we are optimistic about the potential support from these foundations, we understand that it is not guaranteed.

We deeply appreciate the generosity that has already been shown, and we want to ensure that your contributions are utilized in the best possible way to support Violet's overall well-being. Thank you for your compassion, prayers, and support as we stand united in support of our beloved Violet.

With heartfelt gratitude,
The Hoehner Family
