Support Violet's Battle Against Leukemia

Donation protected

My name is Brandi. I am a single mother of 4 wonderful children. My youngest, Violet, who is 3 years old, was diagnosed with leukemia on 2/22/2025.

I took her into the ER for a stomach ache and a small rash. They took a blood sample, and the next thing I knew, they were rushing her to a children's hospital in Indianapolis. Her test came back with signs of leukemia. She was having respiratory issues and was admitted into the PICU. Leukemia was confirmed a few hours later.

She has had multiple blood transfusions and has been pumped full of platelets and electrolytes. Heart failure and liver failure. So many other issues related to this that I could sit here and list them all day.

She is set to have a bone marrow test tomorrow, 2/25/2025. Hopefully, that will give us more answers. The doctors are starting a treatment plan for her based on that bone marrow test. She will start chemo during that time.

My family desperately needs help. I do work full-time, and I live an hour and 14 minutes from the hospital. The travel expenses and the expenses while I am at the hospital are stacking up. My credit cards are maxed out. I make enough to take care of my children, but not enough for all these extra expenses every day. She will be here at least 2 months, if not longer. I am a wreck trying to figure out how I can keep my job, take care of my other children at home, pay for gas going back and forth to the hospital every day, and still manage to pay all my bills.

She was born at 30 weeks and has already spent so much time in the hospital fighting for her life since day 1. She is a fighter. She will recover. It may take months, but I know she will. She did it once, and she will do it again.

***update***

We ended up in the ER on 3/17. Violet had a bloody nose that would not stop. she started coughing up blood. They did blood labs and she was actually at great numbers. I was so happy to hear. So far, she is doing great, Some days she is happy and healthy and the next day she is sick and not doing so well. Right now we are just taking it one day at a time.

****update 3/25*****

Her numbers are coming along nicely. The Dr's are happy with her progress so far considering the state she was in when she was admitted. They have updated her chemo schedule to 4 days a week and this week she gets an echo of her heart. She has started losing her hair and I did not take that discovery very well. She is starting to look very sick but I guess that means she is starting to get better. We have a long journey still and it's hard to believe it has only been a month. This has been the longest month of my life.

As always, Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes and for every ounce of help you all have done.

***4/20

Today is Baileys birthday and Easter. We had a good day. Violet slept until 2pm. She is looking very very sick and her hair is very very thin. Some days she eats but most days she doesn't. So e days she sleeps all day and other days she is full of energy.

**4/26

Her insurance started denying meds and treatments. I had to get a second job in order to have money when or if I have to pay fir chemo. She is back in the hospital. She came back Thursday afternoon she is being kept for a week at minimum.

****6/8

Violet has been in and out of the hospital for 3 weeks now. She can't maintain her counts. She gets tired very easy. She bruises when you touch her and she is cold all the time. We have to make it until Friday when she goes in for an LP and she is Hopefully starting Blina IV therapy. Blind is an IV backpack that we wear for 28 days, get off of foe a few weeks (I think hers is 7 weeks off, I might be wrong on that) and then we go back on for 28 days. It is a relapse medication that has a siccess rate of preventing replase in 10 years. The cost of that medication is just under half a million. And that is just the medication alone, not the nurses and hospital visits that come with it. Violet looks so crappy and she has lost so much weight. I just keep telling myself that she looks sick because the chemo is working but those positive words only get me so far.
