Violeta has been a pillar of our community for over four years, dedicating herself to helping maintain and care for many of our cooperative homes. Her hard work and kindness have touched countless lives, and she has always shown up for others, even while supporting her own kids and grandkids as an immigrant working weekdays and weekends. Recently, Violeta experienced a traumatic assault by someone in the midst of a severe mental health crisis. She had to flee for neighbor support, fearing for her life, and spent hours in the ER. While she is physically recovering, the emotional shock and trauma have made it difficult for her to return to work or process what happened, especially as she relives the event with police and medical staff.

Missing work is a major hardship for Violeta, as her income is essential for her family. The funds raised will help cover her medical expenses, provide financial support so she can take time off to heal, and allow her to access therapy for emotional recovery. This support will give Violeta the space she needs to focus on her well-being without the added stress of financial instability.
