Violet is a familiar face to many in our neighborhood, working at the local Del Taco drive-through. My family and I have gotten to know her over the years, and she always greets us with a warm smile and a kind word. In our conversations, Violet shared with me that she lost her husband years ago and had to return to work just to pay the taxes on her home. Despite facing such hardship, she remains upbeat and dedicated to serving others.
About a year ago, Violet suffered a stroke that kept her from working for nearly six months. Even now, she still experiences some effects from the stroke, including changes to her voice. Yet, she continues to show up for her community, always ready to help and brighten someone’s day. Her resilience and positive spirit are truly inspiring.
In a time when elders are often overlooked, I want to show Violet—and others like her—that kindness matters. The funds raised will help Violet with her bills, medical expenses, and hopefully give her some peace of mind as she continues her recovery. If you’re able, please consider supporting Violet or sharing her story. Every act of kindness makes a difference.
