Support Violet Chalfant's Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Susan Lacz and I am fundraising for a colleague, Andrew Chalfant's, daughter Violet.
On October 1, 2022, Violet played defense for her soccer team. On October 2nd,he legs stopped working and she couldn't walk. Since then she has been diagnosed with FUNCTIONAL NEUROLOGICAL DISORDER (FND OR FNSD), a disorder of the automatic nervous system that can impact many systems in her body.
As of December 28th, 2022, her symptoms progressed where not only can she not walk but she can rarely use her hands, has frequent non-epileptic seizures and is unable to swallow or keep liquids or solid food down.
Additionally, Violet has been experiencing a high level of diffuse, burning pain in most of her body from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).
All of these difficulties are caused by miscommunication between the brain and the body. Despite a timely diagnosis and research-based treatment, her symptoms continue to worsen.
After a month long stay at Children's Hospital, it was apparent there was no clear medical path for Violet. There are very few places globally that can help Violet....except one, The Spero Clinic www.thesperoclinic.com . Andrew and Violet have taken the 11 hour journey to Arkansas and are there getting treatment.
Because this path of treatment is not covered by insurance, we are reaching put to those who might want to offer financial support. Her treatment is likely to take 3 to 5 months at an average of $3k a week.
Any financial assistance is greatly appreciated by the entire Chalfant Family.
Thank you in advance.
