Support Viola Lutterodt's Battle with Colon Cancer

Donation protected
My mom, Viola Lutterodt, is a mother of six and someone who is always helping others. Whether it is simply putting a smile on a stranger's face or going above and beyond to help someone in need, regardless of how much she has to help, she is the most selfless, kind, caring, and loving person I know. As a medical assistant, she has dedicated her life to supporting others in need, which says so much about her selfless character.

I am a second-year student at university, and my family highly awaited my return home in May 2024. But everything changed suddenly shortly after I arrived home from college after the spring semester of 2024. I noticed my mom kept complaining about stomach pain; she was constantly holding her stomach to help her walk, combined with extreme weight loss. I knew something didn't feel right, so we decided to go to the doctor. On July 5, 2024, she was diagnosed with prolapse, which is the bulging or falling out of the pelvic organs due to weakened tissue that is unable to support holding them in place. Prolapse is known to cause discomfort and pain in the pelvic area, so I was so relieved when we finally got some answers on what was causing the pain and that we could finally get some help to manage or get rid of it. We started seeking medical care and living a healthier lifestyle to manage her condition, but the pain continued and even worsened. At this point, I knew something still was not right as she was always in pain in her abdomen, which affected her everyday living, such as eating, walking around, and discomfort in sleep at times. We then decided that we had to figure out if it was the prolapse worsening or if something more was causing this pain, so we scheduled a colonoscopy to detect if anything was wrong with my mom's large intestine area, as that's where she was feeling the most pain. It was then that we found out the terrible news that there was a mass in her colon on July 24. 2024. Following a recent MRI on September 7, 2024, we were informed that the cancer is progressively growing and, unfortunately, has gotten to stage 3 colon cancer. This news has been extremely hard for me, my mother, and our family. I am 20 years old and doing my best to financially support my family by temporarily leaving college this year to work and care for my mom.

Since the news of this progression, my mom has decided to heal naturally, but we need help financially. The money donated will be going towards items that will aid in the healing process of my mom. However, the emotional and financial strain that this places on my family is immense, and I am asking for your support during this incredibly difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, will help ease the burden on my family, allowing us to focus on my mom's care without the stress of finances. Your generosity will go toward medical expenses, healing equipment and personal items that will aid in healing and comfort this winter. I appreciate any support you can offer.
