Hi, as most of you know, our sweet Vinny boy was rushed to the hospital via squad due to low oxygen and retractions. It started with a regular trip to the dr where he was treated for bronchiolitis, sent home to monitor symptoms.. 2 days later he was struggling so I took him to children’s close to home and was immediately sent to the main campus children’s by squad. There, he was diagnosed with RSV & Streptococcus pneumonia. He quickly went downhill, leading to intubation.Orginally on day 5 they attempted to extubate and it failed due to extreme swelling in his throat from the trauma of the tube. Fast forward 2 days later and he was officially on the ventilator for 7 days before coming off successfully! We are so beyond blessed our boy is doing better, and we’re working with Children's Hospital to get home! Unfortunately, I’ve been out from work for a few weeks to be here with him every step of the way and have very little sick/vacation time. Any donation will help until I can get back to work with a HEALTHY baby.
Thanks for taking the time to read our story.
