Hello! My name is Kendall and as some of you know, my father, Vinny Paskiewicz, was involved in a serious car accident on April 23rd. Another driver veered into his lane suddenly and hit him head on. My dad was trapped inside his vehicle until firefighters could come extricate him. He suffered several serious injuries including a broken right femur, shattered right ankle, broken left hip/dislocated left leg, tears in the muscles/ligaments of his right knee, amongst other less serious injuries such as a sternum contusion, whiplash, and various lacerations and bruises. He spent 23 days in the hospital and had 4 surgeries. He finally got moved to a rehabilitation center this past Thursday. He will need to remain there until he can bear weight on one leg, which is estimated will take approximately 6 weeks. Once home, he will still need extensive physical therapy and accommodations. Unfortunately, the at fault driver has state minimum insurance, and no other funds or assets. This will not even come close to touching the medical expenses and missed wages. My dads job entailed physical labor so that is something he will not be able to return to. My parents are filing for disability but there is a 6 month waiting period. I am putting together this fundraiser, not for any financial gain, but to help my family with their basic day to day expenses since they have now been cut down to a one income household with 4 children living home to support.
