On February 23, 2025, my father, Vinnie McDermott, suddenly passed away from a sudden heart attack at the age of 51. His passing was unexpected and has left such an immense void in the lives of my family and his friends. My father was a man of strength, kindness, and warmth, and whose laughter could make even the hardest days go a little bit better.

Fifty-one is far too young. He had so much more to experience, so many more moments to share with the people he loved. He was not only my father, but the man who taught me basically everything I know and my best friend.

As I navigate the overwhelming grief of his loss, I find myself holding onto the memories, the laughter, the lessons he taught me, and the love he gave. His impact on my life and many others will never be forgotten.

Two weeks before my father passed, my mother unfortunately was laid off from her long time job. My father then became our only source of income. With him gone, my family has been having even greater finacial struggles.
