My friend and coworker, Vinnette Nelson, recently experienced an unimaginable tragedy while visiting her daughter in Jamaica. During their trip, they were ambushed by a gunman. Her daughter, Maya, was tragically killed in the attack, and Vinnette is now in the hospital after being shot multiple times. She is facing a long road to recovery, both physically and emotionally, as she copes with the loss of her beloved child and the trauma of this horrific event.

The funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward supporting Vinnette’s ongoing medical expenses, travel costs related to her care, and the funeral arrangements for her daughter. She is currently unable to work and is in urgent need of support to cover these overwhelming costs. UPDATE: The expense just to fly Vinnette home is over $40,000.  She has to be flown back to the states on a medivac helicopter due to the extent of her injuries. The fundraisers main goal is to bring her back home to continue her recovery.
