A New Mom. A Failing Kidney. A Fight to Stay Alive.

Hi, my name is Vinity. Just two months ago, I gave birth to the love of my life — my baby girl. Aspen. Becoming her mother has been the most beautiful, life-changing experience. But shortly after bringing her into this world, my world began to fall apart.

I was born with a kidney disease, but I never imagined how quickly it would turn into a fight for my life. After giving birth, my body couldn’t keep up anymore. I was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure — the final stage. My kidneys are no longer functioning, and I’ll be starting dialysis any day now. I’m now on the list, hoping and praying for a life-saving kidney transplant.

I never thought I’d be writing something like this. I’m 34, with a newborn in my arms, and I’m terrified. I don’t have close family to lean on. I’m doing everything I can to be strong for my daughter, but the weight of this illness, combined with medical bills and basic living expenses, is more than I can carry on my own.

Right now, I need help — not just for me, but for my baby girl. She needs her mama. And I need a chance to heal, to stay alive, and to be the mother she deserves.
