Hi my name is Laura and I am raising money for my husband of 6 years. Sharing for one of my best friends in the world! If you can’t help please share ❤️❤️
**He is type O blood and can accept only type O blood**
My husband, Vince age 54, is a proud Air Force veteran who served this country with honor, including time in special operations after 9/11. During his service in the Middle East, he was severely injured in a Humvee explosion and had to be airlifted to Germany for emergency surgery. Even after being told he could no longer serve, he fought to reenlist—because serving his country was never just a job, it was his calling.
After returning home, Vince earned two master’s degrees, became a dedicated therapist, and raised his daughters with incredible love and strength. I met him while we were working together at an inpatient child and adolescent hospital—he as a therapist, me as an RN—and I knew right away he was an extraordinary man who won my heart.
Over the years, Vince has battled serious health challenges, including kidney stones, uncontrolled high blood pressure, and diabetes that went undiagnosed for too long. After multiple procedures, he developed kidney failure. Today, his condition is worsening, and we are now facing the reality of dialysis.
We have built a beautiful life together, raising our young son and his step daughter, taking trips, camping, enjoying time with family and cherishing every moment. But we’ve been given difficult news: without a kidney transplant, his long-term outlook is uncertain. The statistics given by the transplant physician are staggering. Once dialysis has started 5yrs 50% mortality, 10yrs 80% mortality. I feel like we have been given a time stamp on his life. I started crying immediately when it hit that I may not get the time I should with this beautiful man, my true soulmate and love of my life! With a living donor transplant before dialysis, his chances—and his future—improve dramatically.
That’s why I’m asking for help.
We are searching for a living kidney donor for my husband, Vincent Argento. This is something he would never ask for himself—but I will, because our family needs him. Our son needs his father and his daughters need their dad. We want as many years as possible with the man who means everything to us.
All medical expenses for the donor are fully covered by the VA. Living with one kidney is safe, and donors go on to live full, healthy lives.
If you’ve ever considered being a living donor, or would like more information, please message me privately or contact the VA in Pittsburgh or Hines (Chicago) and ask about donating a Kidney to Vincent Argento.
Even if you’re not able to donate, sharing this post could help us reach the person who can. Please share this story and info with your church groups or any group.
Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for giving us hope!
