Our Board here at UCP (Urban Compassion Project) is urgently raising money to support the living expenses of our beloved founder, Vincent Ray Williams III, for the next three months.
Vincent is currently spearheading the incredible work of UCP. He leads several monthly cleanups, weekly donation collections and distributions, multiple daily case assessments of locally unhoused folks and more.
Vincent has impacted thousands of lives both through his own efforts and by bringing in volunteers from the community to get involved. His work has been profiled in the San Francisco Chronicle, CBS SF and East Bay Times.
Vincent puts in dozens of hours every week into the mission and purpose of UCP, all without taking a dime. Why? To avoid taking away from the extremely limited budget currently funding UCP, Vincent decided not to take any money for himself.
As noble as this is, we believe Vincent deserves a salary to support himself and his loved ones.
This GoFundMe is raising funds to help Vincent cover his living expenses for the next three months. The living expenses include rent, food, utilities, renter’s insurance and pet insurance (2 dogs).
How do we ensure UCP can fund Vincent in the future? As we speak, we are securing a fiscal sponsor for UCP that would allow us to receive additional financial support and become eligible for tax-deductible donations. We hope that in 3 months, we can set up a sustainable funding structure to pay Vincent and others who are leading UCP’s work.
If you have any questions re this campaign, please feel free to reach out to UCP Board Member Afraz Khan.
