I never thought a normal ride home from work would change my life in seconds.
My name is Victor Silva, I’m 25 years old, and I live in San Francisco. On March 29th, I was riding my scooter home from work when I hit a pothole in the road. I was thrown forward and slammed my jaw directly onto the pavement.
I blacked out for about 30 seconds.
When I came to, I was bleeding, disoriented, and in shock. I had broken five teeth and needed six stitches in my chin. It could have been even worse — and I’m grateful to be alive — but the aftermath has been overwhelming.
I now have a $10,000 hospital bill, including $8,000 just for the MRI. I don’t have health insurance.
On top of that, I’ve already spent $1,200 at the dentist to remove broken pieces of my teeth. One tooth is fractured in the middle and can’t be saved. I’ve been in constant pain and I urgently need a root canal and a crown, which will cost around $4,000.
I’m doing everything I can to stay strong, but financially, I’m completely overwhelmed.
If you’re reading this, I’m asking for your help. Any amount — even $5 — truly makes a difference. And if you can’t donate, sharing this would mean just as much.
Thank you for taking a moment to read my story and for any support you can give. It genuinely means more than I can express.
