Support victims of Mesothelioma
Hi, my name is Andy Shields. On 12th March 2023, my dad Steve Shields died as a result of mesothelioma. He had been poorly for less than three months. This is a relatively rare form of lung cancer and is caused as a result of exposure to asbestos. The Yorkshire and Humber Asbestos Support Group (SARAG) supported my mum before and after dad’s death. SARAG relies on donations and fundraising to continue providing support to victims and families of this devastating disease.
On 5th / 6th July this year, me and four good friends will attempt the National Three Peaks Challenge, climbing the peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike (by night) and Snowden within 24 hours (ish). We will also be doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks as a training event in May.
I will be doing these events in aid of SARAG. Any contribution is warmly welcomed.
