️Support for All Victims of the SH-71 Crash – The Orellana Family and Loved Ones

On the morning of Thursday, April 17, 2025, a devastating crash occurred on Highway SH-71 near Bee Cave, Texas. Grevil Orellana, his father Eliud Orellana, his brother-in-law Jeremías Posadas, and his nephew Germán Madrid were all on their way to work when a trash truck struck their vehicle.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS, the crash happened just before 7:00 a.m. along the 15000 block of SH-71 Westbound. The accident involved two vehicles and six individuals. Three of the victims — including members of the Orellana family — were ejected from their vehicle upon impact.

Emergency services responded quickly. Three people were transported to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries. Eliud Orellana was airlifted via STAR Flight to Dell Seton Medical Center due to the severity of his condition.

It was later confirmed that the driver of the trash truck had reportedly fallen asleep at the wheel. This preventable tragedy changed everything in a matter of seconds — affecting four innocent, hardworking men who had only one mission: to provide for their families.

This is a very humble family that recently arrived in the United States from Honduras with the hope of building a better future. They have no other family in the U.S. — only each other — and now they are facing unimaginable pain, loss, and financial hardship.

Grevil Orellana (24 years old) tragically passed away at the scene. He was a loving husband and father to a 5-year-old boy, known for his kind heart, strong faith, and work ethic.

Eliud Orellana (Father) remains hospitalized in critical condition following emergency brain surgery. He is still fighting for his life.

Jeremías Posadas (Brother-in-law) suffered a fractured collarbone. Surgery was considered too risky due to potential loss of mobility, and he continues to recover.

Germán Madrid (Nephew) was hospitalized and later released, but is still healing from full-body trauma and emotional distress.

El jueves 17 de abril de 2025, ocurrió un accidente devastador en la autopista SH-71 cerca de Bee Cave, Texas. Grevil Orellana, su padre Eliud Orellana, su cuñado Jeremías Posadas y su sobrino Germán Madrid se dirigían al trabajo cuando un camión de basura los impactó.

Según Austin-Travis County EMS, el accidente ocurrió justo antes de las 7:00 a.m. en el bloque 15000 de la autopista SH-71 en dirección oeste. El choque involucró a dos vehículos y seis personas. Tres de las víctimas — incluyendo miembros de la familia Orellana — fueron expulsadas del vehículo por el impacto.

Los servicios de emergencia llegaron rápidamente. Tres personas fueron trasladadas al hospital St. David’s South Austin Medical Center con heridas graves y potencialmente mortales. Eliud Orellana fue transportado en helicóptero STAR Flight al hospital Dell Seton Medical Center debido a la gravedad de su estado.

Más tarde se confirmó que el conductor del camión presuntamente se quedó dormido al volante. Esta tragedia, totalmente evitable, cambió para siempre la vida de cuatro hombres trabajadores e inocentes, que solo buscaban sacar adelante a sus familias.

Grevil Orellana (24 años) falleció en el lugar del accidente. Era esposo, padre de un niño de 5 años, y una persona ejemplar: trabajador, de fe, y muy querido.

Eliud Orellana (Padre) está hospitalizado en estado crítico tras una cirugía cerebral de emergencia. Aún lucha por su vida.

Jeremías Posadas (Cuñado) sufrió una fractura grave en la clavícula. Los médicos cancelaron la cirugía por el riesgo de pérdida de movilidad. Se encuentra en recuperación.

Germán Madrid (Sobrino) fue hospitalizado y dado de alta, pero aún está sanando del trauma físico y emocional.
