Support Vic's Journey to Restore His Heritage

658 Shore Road Perry Maine

My close friend, whom I have known for twenty five years, Vic Robinson has suffered a terrible tragedy, the complete loss of his home and family's historical landmark due to fire.

The original Robinson home, the home of his grandparents, had burned to the ground decades before. It had been a post and beam erected by a neighborhood of corn and potato farmers to afford the family shelter during the great depression, but without running water, indoor plumbing, or central heating. In 1929 Vic's father was born there. Later, it became a gathering place rich with memories and the place of many family reunions. The house changed hands and fell into disrepair when occupied by others outside the family.

In 2003, Keith Richard Robinson, Vic's father was commemorated in a military funeral and wake in Perry. Vic felt compelled to drive up to the house that particular day. He hesitantly knocked on the door with a longing to take it back into the family. Vic offered to buy it.

A couple weeks later the house indeed was his. It needed complete renovation. It had no central heating, no insulation or interior walls. The entire house had been left a shell of debris.

Over the past twenty one years I have witnessed his devotion to the renovation of his family homestead from a derelict structure to a finished home using his own sweat equity and every bit of free time and spare money. Making the three and a half hour drive from the mid-coast on his free weekends, he worked tirelessly to transform it to a livable condition. So in love with the history and significance of the homestead, he was married to his wife Rebecca on the front lawn 2015.

On December, 2023 all was lost in a blaze that reduced the house to smoke and cinders in fifteen minutes.

Vic wants to rebuild. He needs additional money to complete the job. Please take the time to donate and pass this on to all your friends, relatives, and hospital colleagues.

Hello Friends,
I'm Vic Robinson and I am trying rebuild my home that was destroyed by a fire. The project is going to require more funds than what will be covered by my insurance company. My good friend Pierre Marki and his wife Susan suggested GFM as a way to raise the necessary funds. I am thankful for their piece that perfectly describes the impact this event has had on me.
