Support Vicky’s Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer

Dear family and friends,

Two recent tests have indicated that there may be a recurrence of pancreatic cancer for Vicky Isabel Salazar. A mass was found in the middle part of her pancreas, wrapped around a few arteries, making it inoperable. Her oncologist is 90% sure that this is cancer, but there is still a small chance it could be tissue remaining from her previous Whipple surgery in 2021. To know for sure, a biopsy would need to be performed, but because results take time and there is a risk of the cancer growing or spreading, chemotherapy will begin on December 17th for four months.

Vicky and her family are facing this challenge with courage and faith. She has shared that it is easy to get lost in fear and uncertainty, but she is holding onto hope and the light of God. There are blessings even in this difficult time: the mass is smaller than before, it is contained in one place, and her body is stronger than it was a year ago. Her oncologist has been a blessing, and some medications have been approved for financial assistance. Her husband Henry can be with her during treatment, her daughters are able to work independently with homeschooling, and her mother is coming to help again. Their support system is bigger than ever, and they are grateful for every person standing with them.

The financial burden is significant. Without insurance, every expense must be paid out of pocket: chemotherapy, consultations, a biopsy, and necessary scans. Your support will help Vicky focus on her treatment and healing, rather than the stress of mounting bills. Vicky believes that something good will come from this, and that everyone who supports her is part of her story. She asks for your prayers, love, and support, trusting that God will turn all of this for good. Every act of kindness is a blessing, and she is deeply grateful for your help.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
