Support Vicky Blue's Battle with Oral Cancer

Hi, my name is Robin, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beloved mother-in-law, Vicky Blue, as she faces one of the most difficult chapters of her life.

Recently, our world was turned upside down when Vicky was diagnosed with advanced oral cancer. While we’re grateful that it hasn’t spread beyond the initial site, the diagnosis is still devastating. Her doctors have told us that she will need to undergo a life-altering surgery to remove her entire tongue. If you know Vicky, you know just how heartbreaking this is. She’s always found so much joy in cooking for others — it’s one of her greatest passions — and now she’ll be on a feeding tube for the rest of her life.

Even more difficult is the news that she will lose her ability to speak. Vicky has spent years helping others learn English and Spanish — her love for teaching and connecting with people through language has touched so many lives. This loss is immeasurable for her and for all of us who love her.

Earlier this year, Vicky lost her healthcare coverage and has been denied Medicaid due to being under 65 — a painful reminder of how flawed our healthcare system can be. Thankfully, we’ve found a local clinic willing to treat her at a reduced rate, but even with those discounts, everything is still being paid out-of-pocket.

I know times are tough for so many right now, but if you’re able to contribute anything — no matter how small — it would mean the world to us. Every dollar will go directly to her medical bills, medications, and care needs.
