Hi. I’m Vicki @carrollgardencatlady. One of the colony of cats I care for is about to be submerged underwater this Fall due to the revamping of the Gowanus Canal! And unfortunately, there is nowhere for these cats to run to! There is high-rise development all around them. No one cares that people created this colony by feeding them and not spay-neutering them until I got involved two years ago. And now they are doomed. I am calling the project “Gowanus No MoRe.” See my videos on IG.

So little by little, I’m re-trapping these cats and hopefully finding a safe place for them to live out the rest of their lives. A barn, a backyard, a studio—some of these kitties are actually accepting a lot of socializing techniques. Sylvester is eating in front of me, coming to the front of the crate, and even meowing when I’m late for food! Maybe Sylvester can have a real home. I’d love that.

All of this effort takes time and money, both of which I do not have a lot of. But I do as much as I can between my low-paying job and life’s chores.

Please help these kitties land on their feet somewhere safe after we re-vet them and get them updated on all their medical needs. Thank you.
