Support VFW Post 4927's PTSD Awareness Challenge

Donation protected
Greetings from VFW Post 4927 Port Jefferson Station! To ensure our mission to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts, to serve our veterans, the military, and our communities, and to advocate on behalf of all veterans, we sometimes rely on the charity of our community.

On Friday, August 30, 2024, two of our members are participating in the 22 PTSD Awareness Challenge. Organized by 22PAC.org, this is a 22-mile cross-sound kayak event that starts in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and ends in Port Jefferson. You may ask why the number 22 is so prevalent. It is an important number in the veteran community as there are approximately 22 veteran suicides each and every day. Part of our mission is to bring awareness to this terrible situation and find ways to prevent this from occurring.

As our members show their support through feats of strength and endurance, we graciously ask you to support our Post and their efforts with a financial feat of a tax-deductible donation. Whatever you find in your heart to donate is completely acceptable but we would love to see as many $22 donations as possible. Please help spread the word and we hope to see you at the Port Jefferson Village Center for the reception party starting at 4:00pm which is open to the public.

Thank you
