Support Veterans with Collectible Carnival & Kaptain Kutter

Hi, my name is Wendy, and I’m one of the owners of Collectible Carnival, a toy and collectibles shop based in San Antonio, Texas. Our store is a haven for fans of everything from Star Wars to horror icons, and one fan-favorite character is Captain Spaulding from House of 1000 Corpses.

Recently, Kaptain Kutter, a local Captain Spaulding cosplayer, visited our shop. During his visit, we connected over something deeper than our shared love of horror — our fathers. Both of our dads served during the Vietnam era. Sadly, Kaptain Kutter recently lost his father, and my dad was just moved into a VA memory care unit due to advanced dementia. That conversation reminded us just how much our veterans have given — and how much they still need our support.

Together, we came up with an idea:

Kaptain Kutter will return to Collectible Carnival this Saturday, May 31st at NOON, to take free photos with fans (along with his daughter, who will be cosplaying as Samara from The Ring). While the photos are free, we’re encouraging donations from anyone who wants to support our cause.

Where Your Donation Goes

We’ve chosen to donate all proceeds to the Gary Sinise Foundation — a trusted nonprofit founded by actor Gary Sinise (you may know him as Lt. Dan from Forrest Gump). The foundation has been helping veterans, first responders, and their families since 2011, and holds a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator — 7 years running.
