Support Veteran John for Urgent Dental Surgery
Donation protected
My name is John and I’m a 38 year old veteran of the US Army.
I hate doing this, but I feel as though I have no other choice at this point . I like to earn my own way, but I’ve started a gofundme, and I’ll tell you why.
Last month, I had a dental infection from a cavity. I left it too long and it’s spread to a bunch of teeth, which need to be removed. I’ve already spent 6.5k in misdiagnosis and had a few pulled, but doing them in groups of one or two brings about the fear of antibiotic resistance. I’d like to do them all at once.
I’ve set the fundraiser to a bit over what I need in case they run into anything else. I’ve tried the VA and they can’t even find me in the records despite sending me a letter of coverage each year. Most of us know the horrors and wait times for the VA, and I need to get this done as soon as possible.
My vow is to pay this back to people in need once I bounce back from this. To pay it forward, so to speak. Maybe I will do a poll and allow people to choose what organization I’ll donate to, once I’m back on my feet in a few months.
I don’t like taking money, but I’ve tried selling stuff to no avail. So, I figured I’d try this and see if it helps.
My work has slowed from being sick as well, which hasn’t helped because I do freelance full-time.
Don’t feel bad if you can’t donate. Prayers, thoughts, and well wishes are just as helpful. I appreciate all of the support that I can get. You can also share it to help as well.
Thanks for looking and I hope no one thinks less of me for this. I’ve tried to delay as long as I could. This is only the second time I’ve ever done it, but I guess you need to put your ego aside and accept help sometimes.
All funds raised will go directly towards my dental health and medications required for it.
