Support Vet Care and Fostering for Coco, Floof, & Rocket

Donation protected
Raising funds to recuperate some of the expenses for fostering, vet care, and finding good homes for the buns!
On May 5th my coworkers and I discovered a domestic rabbit outside our shop (a maintenance shop at the edge of a 400+ acre park in Portland, Oregon). We tried for days to capture it, using various tactics and traps, to no avail. I contacted the local rabbit rescue organization, Rabbit Advocates, but never heard back. After about a month we noticed that the rabbit had built itself a nest between some plywood and the exterior of our shop, it seemed safe and content, and we'd offer it fresh veggies and water. There was a period when we didn't see it for about 2 weeks, and we were all sure that a coyote had gotten it.
Then on June 10th we found a dead baby just outside the nest. We made the decision then to scoop up any other babies and try to catch mama bun once again… and it worked! I brought home mama bun (Coco) and her 2 babes, and stopped at the pet store for some hay, pellets, and other supplies, and borrowed an indoor rabbit cage from a neighbor.
As the babies were weaned and grow, their indoor Rabitat has continued to expand, as has their appetite! An extra large dog crate fitted with hardware cloth acts as their outdoor run on nice days, where they forage for clover, dandelion, yarrow, and other flowers that I grow in my garden.
On Friday July 18th they all got a clean bill of health from the vet, and the good news that both the babes (Floof & Rocket) are girls! They will all need vaccines soon against a highly transmittable rabbit disease called Rabbit Viral Hemorrhagic Disease (RVHD).

Sadly I cannot keep them (I'm a renter and “exotic” pets are not allowed). I've been in touch with Rabbit Advocates and they're beyond capacity and unfortunately unable to help. I'm committed to their wellbeing and actively trying to find them suitable homes. The babes are both super friendly and have been handled every day and like to be snuggled, but Coco prefers to not be handled (she likes petting, just not picking up). If you know anyone in the Portland area who may be interested in adopting some sweet rabbits, pass this along!

Please help me reach my goal of $1000 to cover their vet bills and other expenses. Any amount raised above that goal will be donated to Rabbit Advocates. All equipment purchased for the fostering of the rabbits will be donated to a local animal shelter.
