My name is Verrone Sims. I’m the owner and founder of ABrownhue. My company is a custom woodworking and home furnishing brand with a focus on sustainability and urban lumber repurposing. I established the company in May of 2020 here in Chicago. I saw an opportunity to fill this large gap in the industry at that time and still there’s a lack of high-quality furnishings at competitive pricing thats also eco-friendly.

Over the last 5 years, I’ve designed and built for multiple residential and commercial spaces and have seen firsthand the lack of craftsmanship and knowledge about the sector of furniture. **Which is what got me here raising funds.** The custom space is great, but for us to proceed forward, ABrownhue needs our own unique brand of furnishing that we can sell along with our custom work. Our goal is to become a well-rounded brand that can open its shop doors and create custom pieces, furniture collections, and host classes.

This new workshop we’re opening is not just a workshop; it’s going to be this dedicated 3rd space with a specific intent to aid creatives of all ages, genders, and ethnicities about the furniture industry whilst being the home for our own innovative ideas and goals.
