Hi, my name is Audri, and I'm reaching out to you all to support my best friend of 26 years, Veronica, as she and her family grieve the loss of her Mother, Maria Guadalupe Cardenas.

Lupe took her last breath this week at the side of her husband, Lorenzo, after enduring years of illness. While we are comforted in knowing Lupe is no longer in pain, we are heartbroken over this loss. I am organizing this to help alleviate some of the financial strain funerals come with so Vero and her family can focus on healing and honoring their mother's memory.

Lupe was a strong and resilient woman. A true fighter. She came to the US from Mexico at 18, on the pursuit of the American Dream and through hard work and perseverance, she raised a loving family, always ensuring that her kids had the opportunities she never did. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, fought the fight for 4 years and was officially cancer-free in 2007. She remained Cancer-free but began battling Asthma and COPD which worsened over the years and ultimately took her from us. She leaves behind her husband, 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great granddaughters to carry on her memory.

To know Vero is to love her. I'm hoping we can come together and bring her some comfort during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference.
