Hi, I’m Veronica.
After years of struggling with obesity—and being bedridden for three of them—I finally made a breakthrough. With the help of a medically necessary weight loss surgery that saved my life, I lost 185 pounds. I fought hard—mentally, emotionally, and physically—to get here.
For the first time in my life, I’m truly living, not just surviving.
But this transformation came with a painful and unexpected challenge: excess skin. The loose skin causes daily discomfort—rubbing, irritation, and restricted movement—but the emotional toll is even harder. When I look in the mirror, I still see the person I used to be. It's like I’m trapped in the remnants of my old body, unable to fully celebrate all I’ve overcome.
This skin has held me back from truly showing up in the world. I’ve missed events, turned down invitations, and stayed quiet in spaces where I should have felt confident—all because I didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin.
Now, I’ve made a life-changing decision: I’ve scheduled skin removal surgery. It’s happening the same week as an event I’ve volunteered at for the past two years—something that’s brought me purpose and healing. As hard as it was to step back from that commitment, I know this surgery is a vital step toward freedom, self-love, and full recovery.
Here’s where I need your help.
Although the surgery is medically necessary, insurance denied most of it as “cosmetic.” I now need to raise $10,000 out of pocket to move forward.
This surgery isn’t about vanity. It’s about being able to move without pain, show up without shame, and finally feel at home in the body I fought so hard for. It’s about reclaiming confidence, comfort, and joy.
After years of being unable to work due to my health, I’ve only just begun rebuilding a life filled with purpose and independence. But I can’t take this final step alone.
If you're able to contribute—whether it’s $5 or simply by sharing my story—you’ll be helping me finish a journey that’s been years in the making.
Thank you for your kindness, your support, and for believing in my healing.
With love and deep gratitude,
Veronica
