Hello! I'm Briana Kendrick and I'm sharing this story on behalf of my wonderful mama, Veronica Stiger. For anyone who doesn't know, she was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. This came as quite the shock because she had no physical symptoms suggesting this diagnosis. She had her annual physical and through that it was revealed she had severe anemia. The doctors tried treating the anemia through multiple iron infusions, however that didn't help so they decided to perform an endoscopy and colonoscopy for further investigation. Through the colonoscopy, they discovered a large tumor on the right side of her colon. After further testing, it showed the cancer manifesting throughout her body. What made this even more gut-wrenching was that she had a clear colonoscopy just three years prior and wasn't due for another scan
for at least couple more years.

I've always admired my mama for who she is as a woman. She is no stranger to overcoming hardships in life. She immigrated to the United States from Chile in her early 20s on her own and was diagnosed and overcame an aggressive blood cancer, acute myeloid leukemia, shortly after I turned 1. She was a single mama raising me and my older sister, Lehan, from a young age. My mama is so hardworking and has spent a vast majority of her life putting a strong and brave face for her daughters. While my heart grieves for her and this woe she has to walk through, she raised me and Lehan to be strong and brave like her and now FOR her.

Although she is surrounded by a lot of love and support, we created this to hopefully help relieve some of the financial burden that comes with the intense treatment that is ahead. My mom has worked so hard at the same job for decades- providing stability when our lives growing up would be anything but. On top of donations, our family asks that you would keep her in prayer. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing- no matter the circumstance we face in this life, our eternal hope rests in God's loving hands.
