My name is Bonnie Taylor. I am fundraising for my daughter Veronica Apple. She is a single mom of two boys, James age 13 and Pat age 8. She has been battling Colorectal Cancer for the past four years. She has had four years of radiation, chemotherapy, excruciating painful side effects, several surgeries, and procedures. She has had two surgeries to remove cancer. Both times the cancer was removed only to return after six months. After the third surgery, the cancer had not returned. Veronica was feeling well. She was excited to get her PET scan at the one year mark, certain that cancer did not return. To her dismay, she received the devastating news that cancer had not only returned, but had spread to lymph nodes throughout her pelvic area and into her lung. Veronica is diagnosed with Distant Metastatic Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer.

Veronica was a first responder for Jefferson County Public Schools Security Dept. She had to leave her position and is no longer able to work because of her ongoing battle with cancer and her regular chemotherapy treatments.

She is a loving and devoted mother to James and Pat. Her desire is to live for her boys! She and her boys love to dress up in costumes, sing together, dance together, and make funny tik toks. She encourages them, and attends their sports and school activities, but most of all she is dedicated to giving them the best life possible! And dedicated to guide her boys to become respectful, responsible, dependable, loving, and kind, and to grow up to be men of good character.

As Veronica faces yet more debilitating cancer treatments she is unable to return to work. She was fortunate to receive retirement disability, however, the money she receives is just enough to cover her rent. This GoFundMe Page was started to raise money to help Veronica pay for living expenses for the next two years, including an $8000 medical insurance deductible a year, and $60 a visit copay.
