Support Veronica Acorda Simeon through a medical crisis
Donation protected
This GoFundMe has been set up for our dear Auntie Veronica Simeon, who suffered a hemorrhagic stroke.
I call her Mommy Veron because she is like a mother to me growing up. She is kind, generous and has a cheerful personality. She has been on disability due to her cardiac condition. Despite having to depend on a small amount of disability income, she is always willing to help anyone in need especially her relatives in the Philippines. She is a loving wife, mother, and sister. She has two children, CJ and Shandie who is pregnant. Mommy Veron was excited to finally have their first grandchild who is expected to be born in August. We hope and pray for her to see her grandkid growing up.
On April 9, 2025, she was vomiting and had difficulty opening her eyes and move her extremities. Family called 911 and she was rushed to Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Doctors found significant bleeding in her brain. She underwent an emergency surgery to drain the fluids from her brain. As of today, Mommy Veron is still in critical condition, unconscious. Her pupils are not reacting as fast as before. Her family at bedside are reeling, but hope endures. Family is praying for her recovery, oscillating between optimism and despair.
What lies ahead is hard to discern. But the urgency of the situation and the financial burden it places on the family are clear. The hospitalization, ancillary post-hospitalization care, long-term rehabilitation, loss of income. All of this entails a lot of money; the kind that can overwhelm a family and destroy its financial security.
Please consider helping. You can donate, share this page or keep Mommy Veron and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Every little bit helps.
With gratitude,
Simeon and Acorda family
