Verge.fm is a platform of independent radio and cultural writing, which showcases POC, LGBTQI+, and gender variant creatives. Our mission is to be a creative ecosystem that promotes marginalized, emerging, and underground artists primarily from the Midwest and beyond. Verge.fm recognizes the need for creative, safe spaces. By this, our mission is to nurture both the local talent and other emerging artists who share our same values.
With your support, Verge.fm will be able to become a sustainable platform for community expression. Your donations will go toward fairly paying our team, paying featured artists, renting our HQ space at 934 Gallery, and equipment/software costs.
Verge.fm will launch in January 2021, and will only air on weekends to start. We plan for resident hosts to be able to work remotely if they wish. Shows will last 1 hour in duration.
Hosts will share any type of content they want: DJ sets, music, stories, wellness tips, jokes, etc. No prior experience is required to be a host. Anyone can apply for a show, but priority will be given to marginalized community members. We state marginalized as those experiencing oppression by the capitalist, racist and imperial systems of white supremacy. We look towards uplifting Black, LGBTQI+, Non-White and other community members harmed by such violence.
