As many of you know, my beautiful granddoggie Vera almost lost her life last Friday. She got on the counter and ate a bottle of pain meds that were meant for the older dog. My son rushed her to an emergency vet where she stayed until Monday; then they transferred her to a university hospital in Ames for a transfusion. Things were not looking good for Vera, and we were preparing for the worst. But today (Thursday) is a new and brighter day. She is slowly starting to recover kidney function. If this continues, she might be able to come home Saturday or Sunday.
Needless to say, the cost of all this has reached almost $20,000. It's worth saving her life though! She is a sweet, loving girl.
I am starting this GoFundMe for my son and his family in hopes of raising some money to help with the veterinary bills. They are a young family and don't have 20K to spare. We appreciate any help; no amount is too small. If you're able to donate, we thank you in advance, and if you can't, we thank you for all the positive energy you've been sending. Every little bit helps!
